keep the faith people

I’m a very busy person, single dad of three and run my own business. I don’t get on this site as often as I’d like. Most people affected by this phenomenon seem to be very similar to me and each other as far as thier belief system goes, and probebly in many other ways also. I did notice a tinge of fear in many people, as we all tend to fear what we do not understand. I have been a constant student of self development and reliance for as long as I can remember. I truly believe there is a link between all of us, and that this 22/222 thing and the syncronicity of life are connected. I read recently that life is the dancer and we are the dance (eckert tolle, awakening to your lifes purpose) We humans with our kind of narrow ego drivin minds tend to believe the opposite of that. Our choices do affect our reality, I’m not implying that theres no cause & effect, however based on how we treat our world and especially how we think about our world will directly affect what challenges, joys, pains and generally life that will happen to us. I have no doubts in this theroy, from the outside my life seems overwhelming to those who know me, yet I go a day at a time, I don’t worry about how things will work out, I just do what I know I should, follow my gut, and give things a chance to pan out before I react to them. I struggle sometimes with my emotions like most people but I really feel connected to my soul, my kids, my people, my work,  just my life. The expieriences we have are absolutley the correct ones, we know this because they are the ones we are having right now… (eckert tolle) seems so simple, but hard to get your head around..i know. I also believe that we have lessons to learn in our lifetime, this is about development of our souls, the long walk to enlightenment. I’ve read it can take many lifetimes, this is generally considered a buddhist belief. Look at the dali llamaa, theres no question to the people that serve and have witnessed his wisdom and miricles that he is reincarnated.  This 22/222 thing is a real sign, I also believe in the spirit guide idea, but its the universe guiding us not a winged human thats invisable. lol darn roman catholics and thier imaginations:) God is the universal power and source, this is not a man or a woman, it is a force, it is nature, everything is a part of it, we all have god in us, we really do. Keep optimistic friends we are not alone… Oh on that note, one more for you.. Gods plan works, yours does’nt.. (wayne dyer)

Hi Tony,

It’s interesting how many different opinions and ideas come across this website. There dosn’t seem to be anything one particular attitude that ‘binds us’ together.

For me, I find more and more a western attitude that we make our own destiny and we all simply get what we deserve based on our choices. Those that are down and out, somehow deserve it. I find the view, both uncompassionate and very saddening. I have even had it suggested to me, on other so called ‘spiritual’ forums, that someone who was raped made the choice to be in a certain place at a certain time.

People don’t make choices to be in Earth Quakes, to suffer disease from birth, to be lost at sea, to be caught in the crossfire of war, to be the wrong color or race in the wrong place and wrong time etc etc etc. Certainly to a certain extent we can increase or decrease our risks and benefits of Joy and Suffering in life, however this is limited to a small percentage of the overall circumstances people find themselves in.

Some may argue that we choose to Live and therefore that we choose to suffer, such as in the 4 Noble Truths, the basis of Buddhism.

1. Life means suffering.

2. The origin of suffering is attachment.

3. The cessation of suffering is attainable.

4. The path to the cessation of suffering.

Ultimately the path of the Buddhist is to release themself from all attachment and this avoid reincarnation.

These ideas are completely at odds with mainstream spirituality and religions such as Christianity and Islam, although similar to the Gnostic view.

Unfortunately many ‘new age’ ideas, take bits from Buddhism without taking the very basis of the beliefs. (ie the 4 Noble Truths).

As for 222, I have no idea what it is all about, as with most things I am open minded to the possibilities. I only know that it is far beyond coincidence. Some have ideas of numerogical explanations, but it is all ultimately dogma of one type all the other, even though I do enjoy reading about such ideas.

One thing that we all have crossing our minds though is God. Wouldn’t we then think that this is of God’s doing? We all ask for a sign, show me a sign! Well here is the sign. 222

hi 22202, thanks for the info & comments. I agree with you mostly, i didnt mean to sound like I believe everyone deserves what they get or have..at all. I know & have known sick and dying children and adults, I’ve seen natural disasters kill innocents. There is just no rhyme or reason to life sometimes. Its not about deserving, It just is what it is. For whatever reason peoples lives develop, change and many times end sadly or abruptly. I do believe that what we get and expierience is a life or soul lesson that we were meant to endure. good & bad, i hope my life for example goes well and that I’m sucessful. However I could get hit by a bus tommarrow or end up in prison for a crime i didnt commit. Wrong place wrong time? Bad luck? Who knows? Whatever I get or you get we have to deal with and be objective, find our inner peace and look for the ways we can grow or become better. Thats the true test of sucess, can you take all the good & bad in life and be at peace with your soul?? We should all work at it every day, the reward?? maybe some day, or even some life time we can find true ego-free enlightenment. I like to think its like getting up and going to school everyday:)
